What is your opinion of RPI for biology?

I’m a high school senior who’s primarily interested in biology, microbiology, and environmental science.

I just got a really good offer from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and I’m considering applying. The only problem is that the school seems mostly known for engineering, but what are your opinions on their biology major?

RPI is a well known technical university. Their Bio program will be fine. Make sure you get some other schools on your list as well so you have some choices.

My daughter graduated in 2016 with Bio/STS dual major. She had a job offer fall of senior year and has done quite well. She had many research and internship opportunities and published her thesis paper (I think the thesis is optional). I work with surgeons, and the RPI name is well respected for med school applicants.

RPI is known for sciences. My DS is a bio-chem major and is enjoying his professors. Yes, RPI’s name is well respected.
