What kind of clubs do Ivy League schools like?

I know this sounds shallow and whatnot but it's not like we all haven't thought about it. Right now I'm a sophomore in high school. I am on the exec board of Interact Club and a member of french club and another club that helps kids in Africa. Don't get me wrong I am very involved in the clubs I'm in and I'm not just doing it because it "looks good". If you have any suggestions in clubs I should be in or I should start, it will really help? Thanks in advance.

Its not so much what clubs but what you do in the clubs, are you just a laundry list member of 15 clubs, or are there two clubs that intrest you that you are involved in ex.President of the club.

and if you want to major in poly sci maybe join clubs like model un, buisness- FBLA ext

Hopefully this is an answer your looking for…

Colleges seem to like varsity sports a lot, because they require 2 hour devotion every day of the week. If you are varsity team captain, that is huge

Debate and the School Newspaper are also very well respected, especially if you are president/ editor-in-chief

Of course all clubs are great if you are very devoted to them, but these seem to be some promising activities

I don’t think any clubs in particular. I think your participation is most important. Like if you spent 3 hours a day editing for the newspaper and expanded the issue from 3 pages to 10 while you were editor, that looks great. Rather than if you have a typical list of debate club, newspaper, mock trial, etc.
