What kind of jobs do Econ majors get?

I know that Engineers work in cubicles designing things...

I recently noticed that Econ major is the next best major after Eng.

But I have no idea what kind of jobs most Econ majors pursue. Do people who work at your local bank hold Econ major degrees?

My son just graduated with an econ degree and works in commercial banking for Wells Fargo.

I graduated many moons ago with an econ degree and worked as a gas accountant for a major oil company.

I think it is a really open ended major and if you have good grades, and bring alot to the table, you can go in many different directions with it.

In terms of what? I’m surprised you came to this conclusion. Most would see econ as less-career oriented than say accounting or finance. That’s not a bad thing. ag54 hit it on the head–it’s a course of study that is very flexible.
