Since Rice does not offer business majors as an undergraduate, I was wondering which major would be best to get as an undergrad with plans to go to grad school to get a masters in finance. I am currently trying to decide between Mathematical Economic Analysis, Economics, and Math. If there is another major that I did not mention that would be better suited please let me know.
You would not want to choose the standard econ major, which is a nontechnical terminal degree for people who aren’t comfortable with mathematical rigor. Mathematical economic analysis would be your best option, perhaps coupled with a minor in financial computation and modeling.
Thank you!
