What majors have you randomly thought of changing to?

I've always had these random moments where I'm like "I think I'd like computer science! I'd be really great at web page design!" and I start to plan out my classes with that in mind.

So what majors have randomly entered into your mind? They may or may not have been something you have seriously considered. Maybe, if just for a moment, you actually could picture yourself being there.

For me:

computer science

English

astronomy

physics

pre-med ("It might be cool to study cardiology...")

nursing

marketing

Sometimes I'll randomly think that it wouldn't be too bad working in a hospital. I think this comes from all the medical problems I've had in the past and the many, many times I've had to visit our hospital- which is in a very cool part of town and is a very nice hospital. But honestly with all the horror stories I've heard from nurses it scares me away! Plus in reality I'm pretty not that great at understanding science and math courses. These are just those subjects that enter my mind when I think "if I could do anything without failing...". Especially astronomy/physics. If I were better at math it's probably something I would have gone into.

But I really am happy with what I've been doing so far :D It's nice to imagine, though.

Finance

Economics

Accounting

English

bio or chem and join the pre-med route (until I took one chem course and decided I absolute hated all sciences

sociology

philosophy

Actual majors:

-occupational therapy
-engineering
-psychology

Considered majors:

-biology
-math
-anthropology
-political science

I’m kind of all over the place… Mostly I haven’t found my passion yet, and at the same time I give things TOO much of a chance, so I spent a solid two years on two different majors I hated. However, assuming I can get the credits to work out correctly, I can STILL graduate on time studying psychology, understanding that grad school would come after. I haven’t even begun to figure out what I’ll study there though. I haven’t even quite figured that out for undergrad and I’m going to be a junior.

That being said, in a perfect world I’d probably study anthropology, because it’s awesome as a subject. The career paths don’t appeal though.

Engineering [All types]

Then I remember that I:

Want to go to law school (high GPA).

Want to have a life, and be able to have it without incredible amounts of stress due to crunching together all that work (which you would need to do, or be a super genius, in order to be active while being in engineering).

I’m good at math, but not as good as many of the brilliant minds in the engineering field.

I would go crazy if that was my job for years after college.

So, then I forget it.

I was accepted into lots of Architecture programs but turned them down because I wasn’t 100% sure about that field. Sometimes I regret it and wish I had gone to Architecture school.

My first 3 semesters of college I sampled SO many majors and classes - English, Writing, History, Philosophy, Psychology, East Asian Culture, Sociology, Economics, etc. So now I’m a science major and I’m very happy with this choice because I already sampled everything else and even though they were easy, it wasn’t a good “fit” for me. If for some reason I fail at science I wouldn’t switch to another major at my college though. I would transfer and go to Architecture school.

I always think that being a Mathematics major would be freakin’ awesome… till I realize it’s very likely I’d get frustrated with my lack of true genius in math. :(

Anthropology (my parents wouldn’t let me, I bet)
Mathematics
Business stuff.

Gender Studies
Ethnic Studies
Sociology

or Triple majoring in Sociology, World Literature, and Philosophy and double minoring in Biomedical Engineering and Chemistry

Actual majors (and they are my actual majors as of college graduation two weeks ago!):
-psychology (research concentration)
-social work
-minor in biology

I entered school as a pre-pharm bio major.

At various times, I thought of changing to:
-Communication sciences and disorders (audiology track)
-Accounting (but only very briefly)
-Linguistics (but only as a double major with psych)
-Computer Science (again, briefly)

I also considered adding a triple major in geology just for the hell of it but decided not to when I realized it would mean dropping my bio minor one class short of completing it.

Pre Law
Bio Engineering

-Philosophy
-Biology
-Sociology
LOL.

I’m a Design major. I think it’d be nice to do:
Psychology
Economics
Communication
Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior

During the beginning of the school year, I wanted to take Psych and Econ upper divs, but things got in the way and I don’t think I’ll continue to pursue that since now I’d like to double major in NPB and squeeze in a Communication major/minor… which is already unit overload. :|?

If I were to change my major, it would be to sociology with a concentration in childhood/special education.

Computer science, communications, music, education, acting, english, international studies, psychology…

I’m all over the place :p.

Anthropology and journalism/media studies. I sampled linguistics last semester with 3 classes since I was a bit behind with the major and I screwed myself and my GPA :(

Now I’m back to English, which is what I intended to do (along with Journalism/Media studies) before entering college. I should have stuck with my gut instinct, darn it.

Random thoughts:
Biology
Microbiology

Considered:
Economics

Probably going to major in:
English
or History

I would LOVE to be a biology/math/science major, but I’m simply HORRIBLE at math. Humanities is my real passion.

Entering as:
Business Administration (Finance/Marketing)

Considered:
Journalism
Photography
Film/Video

Ethnic studies, urban studies, sociology, political science, communication… but I figured it out too late so I’m stuck with business.

real:
computer science

considered:
math
mechanical engineering
electrical engineering
industrial engineering
psychology
economics
education

oops double post
