What Makes IU-B (Kelley) Better Than Most Business Schools?

I'm just wondering.

I saw in another post on a current thread the stats for many B-students there from HS, and they weren't particularly jaw-dropping. Yet, Kelley still seems to churn out excellent businesspeople, according to USNWR and other sources, even more reputable than those from higher student stat schools.

So, how does this happen? Please explain the magic.

IU has 3 workshops (consulting, investment management, investment banking), and all three of those workshops are run by professors who have extensive experience in those fields. They do most of the networking for you, using all of their contacts/previous workshop alum like crazy to get all of the students great jobs/internships. Once you get into the workshop you want you are golden, it’s getting into a workshop that’s the problem. The professors only select the cream of the crop, those who they know they can find jobs for.

Kelley alum are everywhere. It is such a big school that you can find them anywhere and everywhere; from a managing director at Goldman Sachs to a non-profit accountant.
