Thanks, MTTwinsinCA. I had a feeling I’d missed some!

It may be helpful to have a list of schools that have been mentioned so far, so here’s a stab at one.

The TBA student-produced show at USC has been announced! It will be Chicago, and will probably open in January or February.

Also, apparently 12 Ophelias, a school-produced show, is vaguely a musical. I don’t know much/anything about it.

University of Northern Colorado Mainstage shows are: Fall - Parade,The Waiting Room and Queen Lear (an original musical adaptation). Spring: Legally Blonde, Madea and Picasso at the Lapin Agile. I think that’s right.

Thanks! Looks like some interesting shows for this year besides just Spring Awakenings!

Webster University’s musicals are “Yours, Anne” (Musical about Anne Frank) in the fall and “Legally Blonde” in the spring!

I heard that the musical this year at Plymouth State’s program will be…wait for it…

Spring Awakening!

HAHAH The Theatre School of Depaul’s Acting program is doing Spring Awakening also… LOL

In the fall, NYU Steinhardt MT is also doing Celebration by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt

Hartt–
Musicals: Miss Saigon, Honk, Big River, The Drowsy Chaperone, On the Twentieth Century

the plays are: The Cherry Orchard, Antigone, Light up the Sky, I Hate Hamlet, The King Stag, and Two Gentlemen of Verona.

RCS MT: Little Shop of Horrors, Carousel, Spring Awakening

RCS Acting (through December): The Importance of Being Earnest, Tartuffe (Liz Lochhead’s adaptation), Panto - Beauty & The Beast

***Panto - Very popular type of holiday show in the U.K. Short for “pantomime”. British Panto takes familiar fairy tales/children’s stories and injects a bit of vaudeville, contemporary references, & audience participation to create a rowdy, noisy show suitable for all ages. Draws on the traditions of Commedia del Arte for its stock characters and conventions.

Updating James Madison University from Post #11 (adding Opera Theatre productions)

Fall
“Grey Gardens” - Studio Theatre (student directed)

“Elixir of Love” - Opera Theatre Mainstage

Spring
“Spring Awakening” - Mainstage
“Pirates of Penzance” - Opera Theatre Concert Hall

There is likely to be another student directed musical in the studio theatre spring, but those will not be proposed and chosen until October.

Still not sure what the fall mainstage opera will be, nor what the opera scenes/ concert will be in the spring.

The mainstage plays next year are “Suburbia” (fall), “Anna in the Tropics” (fall), “Romeo & Juliet” (spring)

The fall studio theatre plays next year are “Awake and Sing” (student directed), “For Sale” (faculty directed/ student written), “R.U.R” (student directed), “Director’s Fest” (10-minute play festival of student directed (some student written) work.
