What my chances of being accepted to Brandeis?

I have a 3.39 GPA at a local community college studying computer science. I have several Android apps published with thousands of downloads. I’m hoping my GPA is high enough and my extra curricular activities help. What do you think the chances are?

A 3.39 is a low GPA at a CC for transfer into a top school. It’s worth a try, particularly if you can articulate in your essay why Brandeis is specifically well suited for your educational needs.

Your GPA is low for that school. They even will tell you that a 3.5 and above is competitve. However, you seem to be putting your computer science skills into use and to be honest not many current students are doing those things. You really need to do as Soze said. I’ve been to Brandeis twice for a tour and interviews. If you’re able to travel to do an interview that will really help your chances so you can explain why you will be great to attend Brandeis. Another thing that helps is that you show them and let them know that Brandeis is your number one choice. That is exactly what they look for because a lot students who apply, use Brandeis as a safety school for their Ivy league choices. I really suggest an interview. Speak to them and explain that you really want to come to Brandeis. Ask if they would be willing to do an online interview because interviews for transfers end around March 18. If you’re close by then I suggest you go in person. Also, if you took the SAT/ACT and got really high scores then submit them even though I know that they’re not required. Get many recommendations even ask your campus president or dean. Submit a well-structured resume that states your activities, app development, community service, and work experience. Community service is a plus if you did it. But don’t stress on it. These things will help you but again, it’s not guaranteed. Follow Soze advice to the bone. Use my advice as supplementary. You have to show them that you will be well suited for the academic rigor at Brandeis.

I’m very curious on what your Android apps do.
