At this stage, everybody is freaking out about whether they get in to Yale, or Harvard, or whatever college they want to get into. My question is, how do you think you will do at your college of choice? More specifically, what's next in the list of things to freak out about?

Where to go to college once all the acceptance letters are in. Odds are most people who apply and get in to Yale will get into another extremely presitigous school, and although its a win-win situation, it's still a tough decision.

AP tests, anyone?

most definitely

Well, when Yale rejects me, I'm going to be nervous about going to Australia with no money and no plan except that i'm going to travel from sydney to cairns :D It's gunna be so much fun, but so messed up lol.

Other than that, nothin to worry about. I don't care about ap exams and I'm done standardized testing for the next couple years.

Personally, when I don't get into Yale, I'm going to attend the University of Winnipeg.

What're you gunna worry about, chez?

Back to the original question, I am going to worry about how I will compare in the classrooms at Yale to my peers - I attend a low-performing high school, and I'm afraid the classes here are a bit too relaxed. I know I'll adjust, though, and I'm looking forward to the challenge. It will be exciting.

My AP's, mainly. I'm in the same situation that vivaldi's in. My school has a rather poor reputation in my city. Strangely, I'm not all that stressed about how I'll compare to other Yalies. I know I will do very well and adjust nicely in Conneticut. (Perhaps a mild form of egocentricity?)

Ditto, viv, if I get in. Fitting in with the smart kids will be hard. I'm actually worried about finding friends as well. Well, finding good friends. Everybody gets a new start come freshman year, so it's hard to know who's worth the time (aka who won't stab you in the back).

I'm actually not worried about that at all...to me, Yale doesn't seem cutthroat.

By the way, chez and hypoxia, where else did you guys apply?

I think Yale is so big that you can fit into any group. So if you dont wanna be with the cutthroat people....you can easily find another group.

I applied to my state college, Colorado State University, because they have the best program for my future career, but that's grad school. I got in there, then I withdrew my application from Harvard.

I'm pretty sure I won't be getting into Yale so naturally I'm not stressed to the same degree as everyone else. Instead, I'm doing the AP thing.

Viv, that's comforting. I'm sure you're right. I also applied to Stanford, Dartmouth, Mcgill, and Winnipeg. I withdrew my apps from Stanford and McGill though, and I won't be attending Dartmouth either way. Basically for me it's either Yale or Australia then Winnipeg.

How about you? Any idea what major you both want?

science all the way. I'm leaning toward biology, but chemistry is also interesting. Also, I'm thinking of perhaps minoring in French, but I am definitely going to take classes in Italian.

Chezfleur...i am DEFINITELY taking Italian also....my grandpa says these words in the middle of sentences and i have no idea what he's talking about....lol...we're all italian btw. :)

I can't wait to see you in class!

oh....well i dont find out until thursday :(

sorry i thought you were waiting to hear from yale.

EA rocks!
Being the eternal optimist that I am, I have every confidence that you will be accepted. I am sending positive waves/vibes/whatevers as you read this.

LOL....why thank you chez...i am thankfully eating/digesting/absorbing your waves/vibes/whatevers.

I take it you study french....me too :D

We are just two baguettes in a basket, aren't we?
