Hello,
I’ve been contacted by a couple of my top choices (1 Ivy, 1 top 15 school) for interviews. I am wondering how excited I should be about this? I mean, do they interview all candidates?..if not, what percent? Does this mean that they are seriously considering me?..maybe I’m reading into this too much???
You’re reading too much into it. Most top schools try to interview all candidates, assuming interviewers are available in the area. What percentage they don’t interview varies by college, and is unknown in most cases,
First, not all top schools offer admissions interviews (Amherst, Williams, etc.). Others that do, do so if interviewers are available in your area or, in some cases, via Skype if interviewers are not in your area. However, whether you’re offered an interview or not has no significance on your admission chances.
To Skieurope and TiggerDad,
Thanks for keeping me grounded. Sad, though…I thought I was on fire. lol
@jas766 I feel you:D. Even though it is more of a standard procedure, I trust you’ll still give it your best shot. Good luck with the interviews and your overall application:)
Tx, DriFit! I’m determined and always give everything my best shot but now I have to do it without humming, “she’s just a girl and she’s on fire…” lol
