Having been in college awhile, my poster collection's gotten pretty big, because I'm both a shopaholic and a pack rat. To name but a few, I have some Van Goghs and some Monets, along with a random but cool Hieronymous Bosch. Also, I have a Strokes poster and a Clueless (the movie) poster. I put them everywhere-- on the walls of course, but also the doors, inside my closet etc. :D

Also really popular among students: I knew a good number of people who choose to go with an "Oriental" theme-- Japanese prints, bamboo screens with Chinese characters written on them. Nice. Also popular were anime posters, 50s pinup girls, rappers and A LOT of Harry Potters/Lord of the Rings. I also saw a few Malcolm X's, bikini models and world maps. Everything, really. What's fun and frequent are the Tim Burton movie posters-- mostly The Nightmare Before Christmas posters.

official beer pong rules.... pirates of the carribean.. gabrielle union... bloc party and who knows what else

Hmmm. When I was in my dorm I didn't have any posters up. Nor do I have anything up at home aside from a few frames that contain certificates, plus my three bulletin boards and my solarization photo I took three years ago (which is of two bobblehead dolls).

If I were to put any poster up, it would probably be a 1996 Volvo 850 poster because those photos were really sweet...plus I will be getting one of those cars within the next year or so. My grandparents still have the original promo pics from when they got the car, and they'd look great in any dorm.

No movie posters for me. And definitely no naked women. I prefer my ladies clothed.

But, most importantly, if you hang stuff up, get something called "STICKY TACK". It's a blue silly putty type substance that you can hang anything up with like posters. It won't rip your paint off like tape nor will it cause a hole that a nail or push pin would leave. Most college bookstores have this stuff. A lot of elementary teachers swear by it for their classrooms (which is how I heard of it).

You PREFER your ladies clothed??? Please explain.

I feel that it is an insult to women to have the naked pictures up. Plus, I like girls with class. In other words, girls who are going to wear something when they pose for a picture. And someone who is going to get a real job instead of being a stripper. Besides, it's better to love a girl for who they are inside than for their nude body.

A lot of guys feel that girls are objects. Nudity, in my opinion, is just another one of these ways they do this. I have a few very close female friends and they would be offended easily by that display as well.

So that's why I'd prefer a poster of a Volvo 850. It's not offensive, it's a good car, and it makes me a lot more comfortable seeing an image of it on a beautiful canvas that some girl whose standards are so low that all she can do is pose naked for people.

How is being a stripper not a real job?

While it is true you earn money for it, it wastes all the intellectual gifts that are given to the girl who does it. It also shows little character of the person who does it.

I love plenty of girls for who they are inside... actually... I just want to get inside of them.

Justification for higher education baby!

He treats objects like women, man...

you mean he treats women like objects? but i guess the reverse could also be true..

no posters for me. yay for clean walls.

uhh maybe some naked people. or something of the like. depends on whether my roommate's a dork-o or not. maybe some of my modeling pics, or would that be pretentious?

pretentious? hm.
well, it does make you seem like a narcissist.

wouldn't it depend on the nude picture? I mean if you have a picture of say Botticelli's "Birth of Venus"...

huh?.................................

no, no. it wouldn't be botticello's "birth of venius"

how depressing

"While it is true you earn money for it, it wastes all the intellectual gifts that are given to the girl who does it. It also shows little character of the person who does it."

***?? Humans are animals and in their natural form are nude, so i dont get the problem with strippers. Also, being a stripper reflects nothing on character. My best friends sister is a stripper and she is one of the most reliable and responsible people I know. Stripping also reflects nothing of your intellect, some people may like the feeling they get when they make a guy want to go wild for them just as a song writer would love the feeling of writing a sad song that makes his audience want to cry. Either way, everything in life isnt about intellect, life should also be about doing something you love to do and maybe some people love to strip.
