Greetings everyone,
I’m a california student finishing my junior year in a dual enrollment program and by the time i graduate i’ll have 60sh credits. I paid for all these credits so i don’t want to lose most of them.
The UCs and the CSUs are guaranteed to accept those college credits but what CA privates do not accept them? I don’t want to waste my money applying to a private college that won’t accept them.
I found out this thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/1020523-colleges-that-do-not-accept-dual-credit-hs-courses.html that only discusses colleges in the east coast. What about the west coast? (California, specifically)?
Thank you so much!!
Some colleges have limitations that may apply to some (not necessarily all) of your transfer credit. For example, those courses used towards secondary school diploma and/or graduation requirements would not be credited at Stanford, according to http://exploredegrees.stanford.edu/undergraduatedegreesandprograms/#transferworktext .
You should try searching for “[college name] transfer credit” to see if you can find a college’s policy on transfer credit, including any limitations that may apply to your dual enrollment situation.
@ucbalumnus thanks! Even though i searched some schools i still feel there’s a blurred line on what is accepted and what is actually counted. On my community college transcript i’m not registered as a high school student but a transfer student. So in this case for instance, stanford would consider my credits as transfer credits?
You have to ask Stanford if you have questions about how its policy may apply to your situation.
