Don’t do McGraw Hill whatever you do. Since your math is weak, get Gruber’s Math Guide (not the total SAT guide, just the one that focuses on math). Also, get the Official Collegeboard Blue Book, and you should be good to go. That Gruber’s Math Guide is by far the most thorough math review you could ask for.

Which one is the Grammatix?
Had difficulty finding it on eBay and Amazon.

@silenceizsik Oh cool, thanks :). If you don’t mind - what specifically is wrong with the McGraw Hill book?

yea wahts wrong with McGraw Hill’s? I thought people said it was a great book…

Isnt Rocket Review a litlle more than $40?

Yeah. More like $200

Thanks for the recommendations! But does anyone know why RR is so expensive on Amazon? It’s a whopping $175 used, $976 new for a third-party copy.

Everyone is saying “buy the blue book, buy the blue book” , but, while real practice tests are important, the college board book, i heard, only provides the answers- not the explanations!!! how am i supposed to study w/out knowinf WHY i got a question wrong?. wouldn’t it make more sense to just get like the princeton review 11 tests book, with explanations, even though it’s obviously not as accurate of a test??

Delmonico - the explanations for all the answers are online and you can access them for free

^ McGraw Hill doesn’t contain real practice tests. Also, if you do want to get a book that isn’t the blue book, get PR or Barron’s; McGraw Hill is just very simplistic and will help lower scorers increase their scores, but it won’t push say a 2100er to the 2300+ range.

so i just found out that there’s a pretty cheap supplement fro the Blue book (the new one) that has all answers explained and is supposed to be rlly good. its called Tutor TEd’s SAt solution manuel. (for those of you, like me, who dont wanna have to go online every time they want to find explanations. I think that book coupled w/ the new ten-test college board study giude should be great.

ok Falthor, u cant spend 20 bucks, but u’ll be able to afford a 45,000 dollar per-year ivy league?

Khan Academy has online videos for the math problems on the Blue Book.

You can look up all explanations on the Collegeboard.com website. Furthermore, Princeton Review tests are not as accurate as OFFICIAL College Board Tests. It is important for one to familiarize oneself with the actual test by doing real practice questions.

I think McGraw Hill is good.

I’m taking the SAT for the first time in October and I already have the Blue Book with the 10 practice tests…but my weakest points are critical reading and I feel like I could probably do with practice on the essay…what other books should I look at?

McGraw Hill. Also look at the PSAT books for extra critical reading passages.

whats the corresponding BB1 tests vs BB2 tests? i have the BB2 and the vids are for BB1

Obviously, most assume you could find this information on your own. However, try this.

BB1 tests 2 to 8 are now BB2 tests 4 to 10.

Also look at the PSAT books for extra critical reading passages.

This is a splendid idea.

When looking for additional CR material, remember the older versions of the Blue Book, namely the red and white versions. And, of course, the QAS one can find.

It would take an EXTREMELY dedicated student to run out of official tests. And, again, one more reason to stay away from anything that was not produced by ETS and The College Board.

BB1 tests 2 to 8 are now BB2 tests 4 to 10.
Why didn’t CB also put the first test of BB1 into BB2? So there’s one test BB1 has that BB2 doesn’t?
