What school in CA should I apply in order to get in to?

Im an international student in seattle. My current GPA is 2.8 to 3.1 ( I don't know because most my low course as social science with 5 credits for each so I don't know my transferable GPA but probably higher a bit )Im applying to transfer for Fall 08. Which university in California should I apply in order to get in for sure ? My major is electrical and computer engineering.

UCSC, UCM and UCR, you'll probably get in for sure.
I'd probably apply to those as safeties.
You have very close to 0 chance at Berkeley or UCLA.
UCSD will also be pretty hard for you, less than 50% chance.

UCI, UCD, and UCSB will be tough too, but you might get in if you write stunningly good essays (but it'll still be hard because you are pretty much the last priority for admission: CCC, UC, CSU, OOS, International).

You might want to look at some of the CSU schools.

Which CSus do u think I should apply to get in to with my major?

Cal Poly SLO
Cal Poly Pomona

Cal Poly SLO is probably out of reach, it's surprisingly hard to get into for certain majors.

well Cal State is very major specific. I could suggest SDSU and CSULB, but their engineering aren't really worth the money.

Ektaylor,

SLO... why is it surprisingly hard. Do you say that just because it's NOT a UC or something? They happen to have a very rigorous program, Engineering, CS.

What do you mean by that?

They have some of the best engineering programs in the nation, also, the architecture program is unparalleled, one of the best in the world. The reason it is surprisingly hard to get into is that yes it is a CSU, but as mentioned above, the quality of some of their programs outrank some of the nations top universities.

EDIT: Most of the transfer admits are from the neighboring CCC, Cuesta College, which makes it a bit harder for others, especially OOS. I am not entirely sure on the niceties of their application process, but I am guessing there is some sort of de facto regional bias when accepting --don't quote me on that, though.
