So, I'm about to be a senior and I have no clue on what schools I should apply to. I got a 2040 on the SAT (first try, I will retake it)/30 on ACT. I have 3.62 GPA unweighted (4.45 weighted; rank 31/526). By the end of senior year, I hope to have done at least 11 AP classes, which would put me at the top or near it for academic rigor in my school. I know that EC's are important too, but what should I apply to (safeties, assured, reach, anything) based on these facts? Oh, and I live in CA, am hispanic, and would be the first in my family to go to college.

You are an URM and first generation which will help. People can’t just suggest schools though. I always recommend when I see a post like this that you tell us what you are looking for.

Some things that you should consider when looking for colleges and will help us on CC make some suggestions
- Public or private
- University or liberal arts college?
- Small or large?
- Are there any specific programs you are interested in (for example a pre-med program)
- How far away from home do you want to be?
- Public or private?

I would possibly like to double major in economics/math or stats. I would probably best like a university that is in a medium to large-sized city on the west or east coast, but preferably not in southern California, unless it’s UCLA or something (although I think that might be a reach). I would be fine with a liberal arts education, but might just want to stay in my own majors. The size of the university doesn’t really matter too much, as long as its not too small.
