What schools should I transfer to?

Hi!

I am currently going into my sophomore year (a college student). I am at a top 30 school. I am looking to transfer into a university that has a good neuroscience program because my current school doesn’t have one. I would like to apply to med school after university. I live in the Northeast btw.

GPA: 3.4 (I know that it isn`t good, can raise it up to 3.5 by time of transfer application)
ECs: lab 8 hours a week, hospital volunteer 4 hours a week, student government 3 hours a week

Question 1: Where are good schools that I can apply to? How many? (Is Wake Forest/Emory an option? I can list my ideas of schools, I just don`t know if I am over/under estimating myself)

Questions 2: Is it worth studying for and sending in the ACT? (I have a 31, but can put in time to get a 35) I know that I am somewhat out of high school.

Question 3: Are these fine extracurriculars?

Sorry if this is a bad question.

What top 30 university doesn’t have neuroscience?

You can go to med school with any major and choose any specialty as a physician. Your problem is GPA, not your current college.

Boston College, I realize it is rated 31 by US News. I just said top 30 to give an idea.

I don’t care about going into neuroscience as major solely because of premed; I genuinely want to study it. I also want to transfer due to other reasons, like I feel that the school is geared towards business students.

You should stay put at Boston College. It’s a great institution. Besides, you should REALLY be focusing on GPA repair if you’re thinking about medical school.

Switching schools will only introduce more unneeded distractions and adjustments in your life. Not to mention you’ll most likely have to pay more.
