What senior grades do colleges see if you apply early?

^ Above. My school has quarters for marking periods, and the first quarter ends sometime in November. If the Early Action deadline is Nov. 1, do the colleges I apply to still see my Quarter 1 grades at some point before they make their decision?

they look at ur junior year grades…

Obviously… What SENIOR grades do they see was the question.

I wanted to know the answer to this too; our school has 6 marking periods.

Hopefully we find an answer

Whatever your school sends them. Ask your Guidance Counselors.

Depending on the type of colleges you’re applying to. For example, the public schools in California, the application deadline is Nov. 30, for UCs and CSUs. Therefore, they will only see your grades up to your junior year during the application process. However, if you’re applying to private schools or OOS, they’ll also need to see your transcript mid-point of your senior year, usually after the end of your first semester ( your HS Guidance Counselor will submit that for you or request that you send it in to the colleges).

My D was accepted ED at Cornell. Only grades through junior year were required on application, but they required her senior courses to be listed, then called her GC to check her first quarter (10 week) grades about 10 days before the decisions came out.

Most colleges will still want your most recent senior grades. So say your first quarter ends nov 20 and the early deadline is nov 1, they’ll still want to see your grades ASAP.

some schools are different though. You’d have to call the schools you’re interested in or check their admissions websites.

depends from school to school … My mid year report was sent when I applied early because my mid term results were out by then…

Many schools ask that the Common App school report sent by your GC be accompanied by the “most current transcript including first quarter grades” if you are applying ED/EA. Also they ask that the school’s mid-year report be submitted as soon as first semester or first trimester grades are available. In some but not all cases the mid-year report would reach them in time for consideration in the ED/EA round; most schools send out ED/EA notifications on December 15. It just depends on your high school’s timeline.

My mid-year report would be available mid to late January, so the admissions decisions would already be made.

Even though the application deadline is before the first quarter ends, is there still a decent chance colleges would see my first quarter grades before they make their decision? (First quarter ends in Nov.)

Schools want them sent ASAP ^^^
