I want to interview at F&M but I live far away, Id have to drive down. My family wanst to make a pa trip to visit othe colleges too. the thing is we dont know when we want to do it so we dont know when to schedule an interview but I do not want the interview spaces to be filled up bc I really need to interview for F&M. What should I do. Is teh campus open in between christmas and new yaers or is it completly closed for that time period. does anyone know if colleges are open in that time period specificaly gettysberg, muhlenberg, dickinson?

I don’t think you will find any colleges open during that time frame, even the administrative offices might be closed. Are you a current junior or senior? Also, are you applying to F&M as test optional? I don’t believe an interview is required unless you choose to not submit your test results.

I would call the admissions office to discuss this in order to coordinate your visit with an interview. The timing of an interview also depends on when you are applying (ED 2 or Regular Admissions).

FYI: I know that their admissions reps sometimes do interviews when they are traveling to your area. My son interviewed at F&M and also interviewed with a local F&M Alum.

another question if my scores add up to a 1720 should i send a graded writing sampl. a research paper that i got an a on from an AP course. should i not send my scores.

Be excited about your interview. I was also unsure about interviewing with F&M, but decided to go for it and it was an awesome interview. I take it, ctswimmer, that you are from Connecticut. I am too and the drive isn’t the worst. The interview really helps both parties (the college and yourself) get to know each other better. Also the school just broke ground on new first year dorms, so there will be some fresh housing available for freshmen next year.

During his interview at F&M, my son brought an unofficial school transcript to show them and told them what his SAT and ACT scores were. He came right out and asked if he should apply SAT optional (so don’t be afraid to ask that question). They seemed to like him and the look of his transcript and had no problem telling him that they’d like him to apply (and to go with SAT optional route). He was accepted ED 1.
