What should I do about this interview situation?

I emailed my person and they haven't responded. They didn't list their phone number. Should I contact CMU?

When did you email the person?

two days ago

I think wait around for another 2 days or so. In my case my interviewer went to NYC so she couldn't check her email and didn't reply to me but in the end I had my interview.

Sounds fair, I just wanted to get it done since I hear that the last day for them is February 1.

lol i emailed my person and got a response 5 mintues later. i ended up doing an interview the next day. i was actually planning to set it up beforehand and prepare for it but i had to get ready right away.

Great story, it really is, but it doesn't exactly help me, and now I'm getting a little panicky as I'm running out of time and I don't want to email another person in case my first guy emails me back later.

dont worry about that. it's not your fault he or she didn't reply. in case that alumus does check the email later, just send an email that you found somebody else. i doubht the first person you emailed will have an issue with that.

I emailed an interviewer almost a week ago and she still hasn't responded. I'd rather not email anyone else because the others in my area weren't from the same school. If I don't get an interview at all I wouldn't be too upset though.

Just because they're not from the school you're interested in doesn't mean they wouldn't be worth talking to. I mean, I graduated from CIT, but I can't really give any better advice to a prospective Civil Engineering student than a Tepper student. I mean, if your majors match up that's fantastic, but the specific school itself shouldn't be that huge of a deal unless you're applying to something like CFA or Architecture.

That said, I've been the second alumni e-mailed by a few students after the first one didn't reply for a while. One time the other alumni eventually replied to them and they met with both of us, and the other time the alumni never responded. There's always a possibility the alumni changed their e-mail and forgot to notify CMU or is on vacation or something of the sort.

I was just in the same situation. My interviewer was out of the country and took a week to reply. I didn't want to email a second person in case the first one responded. You could always call admissions if you were faced with a conflict.

I am a current first year student and ran into the same problem last year. I called the office of admission, explained the situation, and was given contact information for a few different people. I sent an email out to them all, and one responded the next day. I got my interview a week later!

So for those who had an interview:
1) what did you learn?
2) were your questions and concerns answered?
3) Do you think that the interview increased your desire to attend ?
4) Do you think that the interview helped or did not help your admission possibilities?
5) How did this interview compare to other school's interviews?

1)Learnt about a couple good classes at CMU. got a general idea of CMU's awesomeness. Encouraged me to apply SCS.
2)Mostly yeah.
3)Certainly
4)Uhm. If the interview is weighed heavily, then it definitely improved my chances.
5)Much more informal. Interviewer wasn't taking notes.

Have people here found that interviewers at most places take notes? CMU has us just fill out a fairly short form, so I never bother taking notes either. I also feel like it would make the student feel more pressured, so no sense in doing that.
