I really love Brown. That’s why I don’t apply to ED2. I asked Brown. Brown said deferrals can send additional material after Jan 1st. I am curious what kind of material should I send?

I dont apply ED2 too. I feel it’s like compromising my biggest dream lol

If you’ve won any awards, have additional accomplishments, updates on ECs, send them. You can also send an additional recommendation from someone who knows you really well (like a coach or an employer).

If I would have been deferred, I would have sent an updated letter (as previously stated), an additional recommendation, a letter talking more about Brown and why you like it, and maybe even a quirky, little video about yourself that you can’t put on the application and maybe even some “Why Brown?” in the video. It should be done tastefully, you’d stand out if it is.

Of course make sure your counselor knows to send your grades as they are updated. (and make sure you are pushing yourself that those are as good as they can be!). This is also where a letter, etc from someone who knows you well, and has a STRONG tie to Brown (personal or academic reference) can also be helpful if you have that.

one additional rec letter would be good… and of course send the midyear report asap
maybe call the admissions office every 3 weeks

I would highly recommend not calling the admissions office. If you’ve noticed, many admissions offices’ websites, publications, letters, etc. all include some clause of the form, “calling should be your last resort”. My school college counselor says one call is appropriate, if you truly have something meaningful to say. But that is it.

Other than that, much of what has been said is sound advice.
