Hello.
I am an international prospective student to SUNY, but I want to transfer to LACs (at least top 5). (I know it will be difficult, so help me!)
Currently: HS GPA=4.00, unweighted (except for senior yr, which is going badly…-_- haha… for the grades b4 senior year, grade inflation helped me, I guess.)

SAT = 1900 - 2100 (want to hide b/c of privacy)

Here are the questions that I want to ask:

Which courses should I take in college?

May I send the only best grade of the SAT when I will transfer to another school?

What’s your advice for ECs? I have no experience in college but am interested in writing, business club, and math!

How should I spend my vacation? (I want to major economics but can’t find any ECs available to emphasize my interest in that area.)

How many courses can I take?

When can I transfer? (When is the earliest possible?)

Is it a good idea to inform to my professors that I will transfer asap? Or, would it look bad b/c it will show that I will just leave for another school after spending some months or years?

Thank you. :)

Why on earth are you applying to SUNY if all you really want to do is go to a top LAC? Would it not make more sense to apply to those places to begin with?

You're right..
I applied Amherst, Williams, and Middlebury, which are relatively generous to give f/a to int'l students. But as you may see my SAT score, I have little chance to get in.
I only get my result on some day in April, so I wanted to get advice from you in order to find what I can do right now..
For next years, I may apply w/o f/a.. so I think I may have more chances..
I mean w/o financial except for Amherst and Middle, which are need-blind..
(int'l can't apply to Williams in transfer yr.)

Choose your SUNY campuses the same way you chose your LACs. You may end up being there for all four years if the transfer process falls through. Compare the programs available to you at SUNY to what you would be expected to take in your first year (or two) at the LACs that you like, and try to arrange your coursework to cover those subjects.

Do not for one second consider applying anywhere without asking for financial aid UNLESS you are absolutely certain that you can afford that college or university. Every single year international students have to leave colleges and universities all over the USA because they underestimated the true costs of attendance and they have run out of money. Don't let that happen to you.
