My lease will be over by that time but I would like to keep the place kind of. If I move out and back in, it'll be a hassle for us to take the sofa and huge book shelf and everything out. But I also don't know if I should sub-lease it (since I don't really want them to mess anything up..it's all pretty expensive) or if anyone WILL sub-let it for just 1 semester.

I would find a friend who is living in a crowded situation and give them an financial incentive to live in your apt and take care of your stuff.
I was living with 3 other roommates but lived in a friend’s place over the summer.
My roommate covered my rent(paid half instead of 1/4) and I paid what I was planning to pay the group to the apt friend, who covered the rest.
The apt friend was happy, my roommate didn’t mind the extra rent for the added privacy and I enjoyed living alone, albeit temporarily for 3 months.

Okay, that’s a good idea. The only thing is my apt is about $1400 and it’s a studio…so I don’t know if one person would be willing to pay that. I might have to get two but I don’t know if two people would just want to move in for 1 semester? Maybe I can give it to them for a summer and fall semester?

I know some people pay for it while they aren’t living there but I don’t think my parents would want to pay $1400 + study abroad fees which is like $19,000
