Due to my impatience, I printed out the teacher/counselor reccomendation forms, the transcript request form and the financial statement form (for international students) online back a month ago.

I gave the recc. forms and the transcript request form to my careers advisor; however, I didn’t have the barcodes back then because they weren’t sent to me yet. When I went to see him last week to ask for the forms, he told me he had already sent out all the recc.s and HS transcripts without the barcodes/my USC ID on it =( I just got my barcodes mailed to me today…should I ask my teachers to do my recc.s and my careers advisor to send my HS transcripts again?

I registered myself on the USC website a long time ago and I have a USC ID, but the USC ID in the letter I got today is different from my USC ID on the website. I filled the USC ID in my profile from the sig.usc.edu website in my financial statement form and sent it a few DAYS ago (which I assume is invalid now ) Should I also re-send my financial statement?

They want >600 on the critical reading section of the SAT; however, I only scored 580 last time and I’m taking the SAT IIs in December. The deadline’s in January, and the next SAT testing date would be way past the deadline. I can’t miss the SAT IIs this December; what should I do?

I tried calling the Admissions office, but they always had more than 11 people waiting on the line…so I came here to ask for help instead. Can anyone help me?

I hate to tell you, but you're just going to have to wait on the phone with admissions. They really will be able to help you better than any of us.

Tell them what you are saying here. They should be able to tell you whether you need to send the recommendations in again or if they can process them without the ID/barcode. Make sure you ask admissions to see what ID number they have for you. Whatever number ADMISSIONS has on file is the correct number, regardless of what the letters you receive say, etc. I know because this happened to me last year. They sent me letters with one ID number while online I had another ID number. I remember calling admissions, which told me the correct ID number in their file (although I forgot if it was the online or letter ID number)

And about the SATs, where did you get a requirement for minimum scores? There wasn't one last year and I would be surprised if one got slapped on this year's applicants! I scored 570 on the old SAT verbal section and I got in! I'm not sure about USC, but many schools will accept the January testing date's scores. Again, gotta ask! If I were you, I'd accept the 580 though. It's still a pretty good score.

i just recently decided to apply to USC. I didn't even bother with the barcodes since there is slim to none chance that I will get them on time and I will probably have a heart attack waiting for them. My GC called USC and they told me to just use your SS#. So if you filled in your SS#, I think you are fine. But I agree with the above post.

Just to calm you down I suppose. Good luck.

I didn't give my teachers or counselor any barcodes. I email USC and they said it was ok for you to write your USC ID# on the top.

I can confirm with the above posters. I know that last year, barcodes were not necessary. Just have some way for them to identify you and group together all your documents, and you'll be fine. Barcodes are just to help them organize all the papers more easily; they are not necessary. So don't worry about that. Focus on your application, as that's what will actually determine whether you're accepted.

Uh Oh. Today i just got another package from USC with a different set of ID Numbers. But since i started using my old id number and sent stuff with the old one, im just gonna ignore the new ones. :)

Ahh...okay =) Thanks for helping me out! :D
