What should international students choose in regards to the presence in CA?

Question is presented in the submission progress regarding to [State of Legal Residence] with the other four questions;
I chose "NO" for the question that askes "Present in CA for the last three years?"
I made my decision based on common sense, that I've been here (CA) for 2 years and <4 months---same duration for attending my current CCC.
Additionaly, I chose "YES" for the question presented previously, which askes you whether your parents can claim you as a dependent on their tax income return.
So...did I make mistakes for both, one of them or am I just overthinking?

Honestly I'm finding some piece of mind here because I've submitted all of these last night...I hope I don't have to make any changes by giving admission a call.
Appreciate.

?

So you’re an international student and your parents (living OOS or internationally?) claim you? What exactly is your question here? These questions differ among all students.

If you haven’t been in CA for 3 years, choose No.
If your parents claim you on their taxes, choose Yes.

Thanks for the quick response;
In regards to my first question, I did it correctly.
For the latter one, I chose “YES” but both of my parents are living foreign all their lives, and they do pay tax. But idk whether it asks for domestic tax ONLY…

Oh okay.

The parent question is to assert dependency. Although you’ve been living in CA, they want to know if your parents are essentially supporting you. I think this applied more towards other non-intl students that have can be considered independent/in-state for financial purposes.
