What size refrigerator do people normally have in their dorm rooms?

There's not a lot of room for refrigerators; D's roommate had one of the taller refrigerators, and the only place for it was right inside the doorway....a snug passage (it was too tall to go under a desk). D still brought her small one (about 20" square, I think), but sacrificed the top of her chest of drawers to use it.....it would have fit under the desk, but she had a 2-drawer locking file cabinet there.

OK. Thanks.

Residence Halls Move-In

max is 3.6 cubic foot.

however, the RA's didn't really check or measure anyone's fridge...

Mine was pretty big...like 4.3 cubic feet. It was awesome.

I have heard that they make frig/microwave combos. Are those not allowed in the dorm rooms?

They aren't allowed because you can't have a microwave in your room.

...and the RA's DO check that.... All (? I think) dorms have a microwave in common areas....Denton has one one each floor in the lounge.

Do people typically rent or buy their frig's? If renting is an option, is there a place to rent near the university?

Thanks

I don't believe you can rent of fridge, but many of my friends foound creative places to put them...like in the closet.
But I would say the bigger the better...I liked to have a well stocked fridge at all times.

OK. Thanks.

They're pretty cheap to buy, and all the "big box" stores have them on sale this time of year. We got one that was on close-out at Lowe's or Home Depot last summer, but Target, Walmart, etc. all have them.

Thanks. I think we will buy one when get there on move in day to save room in the car.

I brought a 4.3 lol But hey since I'm in a triple I think it's fair lol
