I have a 4.0 UW GPA, taking the most rigorous course (IB) available at one of the top high schools in Canada. It does not rank sadly.

I will be taking the SAT in October, currently getting about 2250, hoping to get to 2300+ by test-time.

Can anyone give me a rough idea of what stats I need? I know ECs and essays are all critical too, but I'm just looking at the stat portion right now.

Also remember that I am a black male with Canadian and Nigerian citizenship.

The best you can get. While that may sound not helpful at all, the better you score/better grades you get, the better your chances. There is no stat cut off.

I would say in your situation (being international) you probably need to be above the middle fifty (top 25%) to have a GOOD shot. You definitely have a shot with lower scores, but there will be plenty of international students with top top scores. Were talking about Duke here though, so getting in the top 25% is no easy task.

Im no admissions officer, and this is just my opinion, so if anyone else wants to chime in that would probably be good. Anyway, good luck with all this! Im glad I am finished with standardized testing, and am just hoping what I have now is good enough.
