I took the SAT I this year and got 2310 (750 CR, 770 W, 790 M).

I want to take the SAT IIs soon, and I was thinking of taking Biology, Math II and Chinese (Chinese is not my native language).

Would this be a good range of tests to take? Because I heard some colleges like to see 'variety' in the subject tests, i.e. not taking Bio Chem and Math together would be better.

Consider taking either the World or the US History SAT2 - that’s what a parent of one of my friends recommended. The SAT2’s should demonstrate proficiency over a range of subjects, not just a specific field.

And incidentally, I have the same question! I took the World History and recieved 780. How many more SAT 2’s should I take? I am registered for the Math II and the Biology II for March or May, I forget which. Is there a such thing as taking too many SAT2’s? Because I feel like I wouldn’t do poorly on the Literature and the US History.

I wouldnt restrain from taking those ONLY if you are confident.
Because some colleges require all of your scores, not selected.
but generally, three’s a good number

I think it is a really good idea to take the real SAT II’s from the book, to see how you score in different subjects, and select the subjects to take based on that. The coverage of topics differs from high school to high school, and your curriculum may align with SAT standards better in some subjects than others. I don’t think 4 SAT II’s is too many, although I also don’t think that just 2 or 3 is too few (depending on where you are applying).

I highly recommend Math II. It is quite forgiving if you get questions wrong (i.e. you can still get an 800). Make sure you are very familiar with your calculator and program some things in to save time.
