Hi=]! I am new to CC!

Okay, so I am a junior at high school and start worrying about college application. I heard a lot of people say turning in supplements(s) (like an art work, a song that you wrote, a research project...) along with your application will increase your chance. I was thinking to start a research project, but I also wanted to write my own music, and also wanted to paint an art work...(Yes, I change my mind all the time)

So I am here and ask everybody's comments and experiences. I just want to know what kind of supplements did you guys turn in to colleges! (a little bit more description would be great!)

First off, supplements don’t increase your chance of acceptance if they don’t add anything to the application. That said, they can be beneficial if they give the school a better picture of yourself.

With that said, that is your choice. You should send in a supplement that most closely corresponds to your passions, not what you think the college would like most.

If you find some stat that says research projects help applicants the most, but you are not passionate about science, then it would NOT be in your benefit to write a research paper.

Colleges care about who YOU are and what YOUR passions are.

Music and art supplements really only help if you’re interested in music or art.

^ if you were to submit music/art but want to major in say, finance would it be worth adding the supplement? Just curious. It doesn’t seem like it could hurt right? Just showing admissions what you have a heart for. Not all of us want to be a pro singer or artist though lol
