I'm currently a senior and starting the college application process. I am both an artist and musician who has been recognized regionally and on a state level. I am interested in submitting two art supplements, one for visual art (in the painting, drawing, and printmaking category) and one for music (instrumental- flute). I am completely willing to prepare slides/prints and a recording. My question is what message does sending two supplements send to the schools? Does it make the school weigh each supplement any less? Or will it help my case? How much impact will a second supplement make? If anyone has previous experience with sending in multiple supplements, please let me know. Just for the record, this is for schools such as HYPS, Duke, Columbia.

I can’t speak specifically to the effect of an art supplement, or the effect of two distinct artistic disciplines. The effect of any supplement is a function of how it is viewed and weighed at each institution.

Take a look through the Common App subforum, there are a number of arts supp posts there, or you use the search function.
