So I registered at (insert 1, 000 expletives) Moorpark on nov 25th, and i had everything fine. I was planning to pay today because I had to work a couple more times to get the money for the fees and everything, and I log on and...there are no classes scheduled anymore..
I was like WT.F am I suppose dto do now! So I panicked and called up the school, and they told me i'm supposed to pay on the same day as I scheduled? HOW Was I supposed to know this? And she told me there was nothing she could do and I was basically screwed.

So.

I don't know what to do! I NEED 17 units to be considered a cc student and 4 of the 6 classes I was scheduled to be in, I was the only person left that got a spot in them. I am...so beside mysef right now.......WT.F? why budget cuts!

I hate this–I don’t even care anymore. This stupid system is so f’ed.
sorry i’m just so soooooo bitter right now X_X
I didn’t have enough money to pay right away…sorry.

That’s so messed up. I’m taking one class at Moorpark and I just got the reminder to pay. I don’t understand why they drop you. Pierce doesn’t drop you if you don’t pay right away.

That’s ridiculous. My CC doesn’t drop you if you don’t pay. Maybe they only do that at Moorpark College. Are there any other colleges where you can possibly take classes?

Ok,
I’ve collected myself, cooled down a little bit, and gone back to the registration site–I can still do 4/6 classes, which is good, but there’s one I NEED to take to be igetc certified that’s taken.
I still am going to call the registrar and give her a piece of my mind. You know? They can’t just establish a rule and not tell anybody! That’s not cool lol.

that really sucks, at my ccc they give you 5 business days to pay, then you can readd the class for another 5 days… after that you have to pay or the system kicks you out… they even warn you about it via email.

…started this new rule at most community colleges I think (even here at El Camino it’s the same thing). My suggestion would be to get on the WAITLIST right away, for that class that you need. Additionally, email the professor and let him/her know how important it is for you to get in (as someone suggested earlier). A lot of people are cross-registering right now because of the mess, and by the time spring comes round the bend, you might be quite low on the Waitlist. I got on the waitlist for an English class, and was #9 on the waitlist. Already 3 people dropped, and I am now #6. I’m hoping one or two don’t show up on the first day. The professor told me, they know how insane the situation is right now. So they are adding a couple extra people than they normally would’ve done. For example if they would normally add, say, at the most 4 people, now they may take up to 6 or so.

Moorpark limited their waitlists to 5 people this semester
they used to be a LOT bigger but they’re being ridiculous!!
As it turned out, I was able to re-register for 4/6 of my classes. I just now need to find any class (I go tinto the ones I needed somehow!) that is 3 units, and a 1 unit anthro lab… boring but I need it! And those are allllll taken.

my school sent us emails saying you will be dropped from your courses if you don’t pay within 10 days.

as someone who works at the school, it makes sense. we’re going through a huge budget crisis and we need all the money we can get. i think we should start charging 50 cents for the class schedules, too.

At my school, you have an indefinite amount of time to pay, but you won’t have access to your grades or transcripts until your fees are cleared. You won’t be able to sign up for future courses, either.

@ Riley: No, I got nothing I’m super anal/ocd about that too haha, so i’m 110% positive.
I even called and they were like “yeah well you should’ve known!” W/e. it’s ove rand done with, I can’t go back haha.
