Not only Exeter sending out decisions today: my kid got one for another school that had a link to the decision portal on their website. Wondering if this school accidentally sent out acceptances as well?
My kid also applied to Exeter, no email so far. Are we the only ones in this boat?
@ccwhiz22: The email is set to come tomorrow. The emails that came out today were accidentalâif you didnât receive one today, donât worryâit does NOT mean anything yet and check the results tomorrow. Good luck!
I am still feeling suspicious, by my count that is 5 Exeter acceptances, I have no skin in the Exeter game this yearâŠ.but am I the only one who finds it fishy that the only people who have heard are acceptances? Where are the WL and rejections? To be clear not doubting the posters here, just kind of doubting the âoh we accidently sent a few of each type explanationâ
I agree. I also have no skin in the Exeter game, but it seems really suspicious to me that weâre only hearing about acceptances. Sounds to me like they are being diplomatic with their statement that a few of all types of results have come out.
Still holding hope for those that havenât heard yet.
@ccwhiz22@LifeLongNYer@jmtabb I also find it odd that we have only heard of acceptances. @goldenfygg shared with me a link to Twitter under the search âPhillips Exeter.â All the results that applicants posted were all acceptances as well.
The only reason I would find it suspicious that we are only hearing about acceptances from Exeter today is because @heartbreaker called and found that all three categories were emailed.
If you think about it, how does an emailing work? Basically you map names/email addresses to a specific block of text (what used to be called a âMail Mergeâ. Then you queue up that text for sending out- in batches so that Spam filters are not triggered.
I would think it unusual if a glitch caused an âacceptanceâ queue AND a âwaitlistâ queue AND a âdenyâ queue all three to accidentally be sent ahead of schedule.
On the contrary, I would expect a single batch of emails to be sent that were queued. Say the âacceptanceâ text sent to 454 students and their parents, or to some subset of that specific email list. Having two or three separate texts queued and accidentally sent would, to me, be strange.
@vegas1 Thatâs fabulous! I understand⊠I think my mom is against my decision to apply but I am so fortunate to have her by my side :). I believe I will get an email written in Comic Sans (72 font) that says âNoâ for my PEA decision
