What time does exeter email admission decisions?

I briefly considered calling Exeter to just ask for my rejection. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but please do not get your hopes up too high if you haven’t received an Exeter email. Based on my calculations, all acceptances were already sent out.

@goldenfygg‌

I’m sorry. Here’s hoping that’s not the case, but I don’t blame you. I’m disappointed in Exeter.

Can I quote Hannah Montana? “Everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days!” Haha I think this is day 3 no sleep?

@goldenfygg , lets go with “21st century realist” instead of Debbie Downer. Not saying there’s no chance, but come on.

I have lost pretty much all hope too. I really wish Exeter did not have its glitch.

I know I will not get in… @thelittleswimmer‌ I think you have a chance…

I think it’s good to prepare yourself, but I am wondering why you guys have chosen to believe ALL the acceptances went out? It was a terrible mistake…this glitch, and I normally wouldn’t encourage strategizing (my suggestion for initials) but it pains me that many of you are reading into the lack of an email this afternoon. My hope had been you could rationalize that the rest of the process will continue tomorrow as planned. Wishing you all the best as the outcome arrives.

@jdewey, I applaud your attempt at lifting our spirits and hope. However, it is very, very unlikely that all acceptances have not been sent out yet. Think about the odds: only about 3000 kids apply to Exeter. Out of those, how many look online, use the internet, speak english, and even use CC? I would put it at around 300-500. And assuming Ex has a 15 % acceptance rate, then that gives 400 times 0.15 leaving 60 people who use CC at all, and applied to Exeter. Now, how many people don’t or are trying to keep off CC until after M10? I’d say half, another 20 don’t care enough to do anything if they got accepted. About 10? 10 people told CC that they got the emails. Makes sense.

Why not just believe it? I did. It lessens the blow at least. Anyways, this was an awfully pessimistic reply for me to post. Anyways, congrats to everyone who got in.

@ccwhiz22‌ I agree… It’s super unlikely… but I’m praying for everyone here… you guys all deserve it!

Congrats to the Exeter class of 2019!!!

And uh, condolences and welcome to the club, those who were rejected or waitlisted. It’s been real.

Oh, I really want to see the calculations on this, since every variable in the equation is unknown. I highly doubt that all the acceptances went out.

Relax, sleep well, and see what tomorrow brings.

@skieurope thanks!

Thanks for the reassurance @skieurope

This whole thing is so bizarre. If this was a simple “glitch” then why not post something on the Admissions page explaining it so everyone ( who submitted an application in good faith ) is treated with kindness and respect?

DUMB.

@PhotographerMom‌ Exeter will always be my “dream…” but I was kinda knocked off my unicorn a bit. Even if I don’t get in… still a dream… just a smaller Unicorn…

@PhotographerMom: I wondered that myself. Why isn’t anything posted on the website and why wasn’t an email sent out explaining the glitch? It would have saved the Admissions Office a lot of time rather than answering phone calls from those who did and did not receive emails today.

hm… my post posted twice? Sorry :confused:
