What time to take the Subject Tests?

The May SAT is right before the start of AP exams. My daughter's college counselor recommends taking the subject tests (for her that would be US History and Chemistry) at that time when the material is freshest. But she has the AP Chem test the following Monday and APUSH the following Friday. Any thoughts on that date vs. waiting until June? Thank you.

I just took my first subject test today ! : )
But every subject test is only an hour and i believe you can take up to 3 or 4 a day. I would suggest taking them both on the same day. It would be a bad idea to take them in june because she is going to be tired of all that studying and ready for summer. Definitely take them both on the same day.
Good luck : )

I’m also thinking about taking the US History SAT II in May because of the AP test.
Personally, I think I would rather take on two tests and study a lot for both and just be done with them. Even though they are relatively close together (AP vs SAT II May) studying for both would be like hitting two birds with one stone.

But if your daughter wants to review more toward AP the first time and then wait until June to take the SAT IIs, that would be reasonable too.

Also, you should consider the actual SAT (unless she’s done with that already). Some people like to leave the June day for SAT I testing.

Hi, thanks for the responses. I think she might want to save that June date for the actual SAT. She is signed up for March right now but hasn’t done much prep and isn’t doing great with the two practice tests. In that case, would it just be better to wait until June?

maybe she should take it in march just so she could see how well she does and what its like, what she needs to improve on etc. Then take it in June.
I heard Professor dave’s owner’s manual for the sat works so well and connects with the student while boosting scores by the hundreds
