Hello. I am planning on taking either the SAT or the SAT Subject Tests in June, but I'm having conflicts over which one to take because my AP Chemistry teacher said the best time to take the Subject Tests are right after the AP Exam, but my AP English Language Teacher is making it an assignment to take the SAT Reasoning Test on that same test date. I can't take the May SAT Test because my Chemistry teacher is making it mandatory to come to school for practice AP's right before the Exam. So I'm going to need advice on which to choose right now. I have taken the SAT Reasoning Test before and gotten a 2040, and I have taken four SAT Subject Tests before in World History, Biology, Math Level II, and Literature (770, 690, 700, and 530 :O, respectively).

I’ve never seen a teacher require SAT testing on a certain date…in my opinion that’s pushing it a bit too far.

You might have to take the SAT in June (kind of stupid, I know), in which case it shouldn’t hurt to push the chemistry subject test until the next testing date (I believe it’s October). I took the physics test the November after the AP Physics course (nearly 6 months after the AP exam) but still got a 740. As long as you can review it a bit and have it stick fresh in your mind, it shouldn’t hurt at all waiting a bit for the subject test.

Tell your teacher you won’t be retaking the SAT, or at least not on that date. Taking the SAT IIs in June seems only reasonable. She should understand. Plus I’ve never seen a teacher who even cares what you do with your SATs or when you take them, none of their business.
