I want to buy my sister a going to college present that she will actually use but that could be considered a perk. Like something she wouldn't otherwise buy. I was thinking maybe a nice coffee pot and travel mug or a tv but I'm really not sure. Any suggestions?

What’s your budget? For under $10, how about a eye mask, earplugs, nail polish in her school color, 3m sticky things to hang stuff on wall? You could put it in a shower caddy if her dorms bathrooms are not attached. My daughter loves that I give her birthday decorations so she can decorate her friend’s doors, and those sticky gel deals that can go on a mirror or door to make it festive.

For $20, a laundry bag of her school colors with soap and dryer sheets, warm socks or scarves if she’s going somewhere cold, those gloves you can wear while texting…

My older daughter and her friend wrote on 100 paper bags before they left. It was so sweet and younger sister took one every day for lunch. You could do something similar if sh’s sentimental…

The paper bag idea is really cute! And I like the texting gloves, she’s going to school in Massachusetts (from California so we’re not used to the snow) so she needs a new winter wardrobe. An addition to that is a wonderful idea, thank you!

For the cold weather, some nice scarves and hats? I like the texting gloves suggestion too.

As for other little luxuries, how about a nice bath caddy and fancy bath set, or maybe a nice bathrobe for those trips to the communal bathroom?
