What to do 1-3 days before the test

I'm thinking about taking a practice test around 6-7 days before the test.
Practice, than take another test 3 days before the test and practice again, trying to focus on what I did wrong.

Is this a efficient strategy?
If not, what do you guys suggest I do a few days before the test? Keep my mind busy or relax?

The reason I ask this is because I have taken the ACT and gotten a 29 while another time i got a 24......
Obviously there is something about ones mental state that has a drastic effect on ones efficiency during the test

Yes. Its good. Just remember to go over your incorrect and blank answers when you finish each test. Good luck :)

Love the 6-7 day practice test. Love the focus on what you got wrong. Not wild about taking another full length practice 3 days before.

At this point you’ve seen every type of question you are likely get (outside of the surprises that will surprise everyone). I’d suggest you spend the days before the test reviewing past wrong answers and resting your brain. No one runs a practice marathon 3 days before the real one.

I agree with the previous poster that taking a full practice test 3 days before the real test is counterproductive.

What may be useful to you (and not knowing how you’ve been doing in previous practice tests this may not be necessary) is to think about the essay. Build up a small list of examples and review them. These can be books (that you’ve already read), historical events, leaders, etc.-- names, events, a quote or two, themes, etc. Don’t overdo – just spend an hour or two. Then read over your list of possible examples the day before the test.

during the last week, before the test, I took a practice test each day (often skipping the essay part) until the last day. Night before the test you have two options:

 1. Relax and just watch a movie/play video games/etc.
 2. Review vocab words, grammar rules, and math rules/formulas/theorems.

I suggest you don’t take a practice test the day before the day of the test since that could strain you, and all you want to focus on is getting a good night of sleep (use medicine/pills if needed).
