I apologize if the following question sounds silly, but I have to do this whole application process by myself so my knowledge regarding certain matters is rather limited.
So I have been accepted as an ED applicant. What do I have to do to other schools to which I have also submitted? Obviously I cannot enroll them, but should I:
A. Contact them and state that they don’t need to consider my profile anymore.
B. Leave them be. It’d be nice if I could collect more acceptance letter.
If I choose B I’ll have to send my senior grade report to other schools.
But I don’t know what to do with A. The other day I wrote about how I love those schools passionately, and now can I just tell them to forget me? Then I’ll receive a reply saying "Thank you. We have erased you from our data. " It’s kind of harsh.
I do not, however, complain about it or regret my ED decision. I just want to know how to approach this matter. So please help me. Thanks a lot!
If you choose B, you’re in violation of your ED agreement which you signed.
You agreed that if accepted ED, you’d immediately withdraw your other active apps. What about this is difficult to enact? Stop being an egoist. Withdraw from the other schools.
Yeah, you have to withdraw them. I think “egoist” is a little harsh. I appreciate how it is to want the positive feedback of those acceptances/letters after all the hard work and time you probably put in to the apps…but the trade off is that it’s not even Jan 1 and you are DONE, accepted (I hope) at the college of your dreams. Enjoy that and let go of the rest. Congrats!
