What to do when Blue and Gold runs out

@stevo…what was everything they offered you…in your financial aid package…if you can. can you list the item and the amount awarded…

YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SEE AN AWARD SPECIFICALLY CALLED 'BLUE AND GOLD"…

the blue and gold consist of grants, scholarships, etc…so it might not be the case that you will see a specific item…named blue and gold…

do you and our parents have an income of more than 80k…

@Divzero…i took a thermodynamics class at a CC that transferred to my UC…but i do understand…where you are coming from…I guess thats the tough life of an engineering major…lol, you will just have to make your classes fit…if you look at the classes that are still needed for you, see if you can fit it into your remained college carreer to see when you will aprx graduate.

@samurai92
UC Fee Grant:$732
Federal Direct Stafford Loan:$5,500
Federal Direct UNSUB Stafford Loan:$2,000
Federal Direct Parent Plus Loan:$2,753

my parents and i make less than 80k income

@stevololpb18 its possible that maybe your cal grant has yet to go through…from that budget you should qualify for a cal grant…check webgrants website to see your apprx cal grant award…it seems that your award is just pending…because if you say you do qualify for blue and gold…this doesnt cover the uc tuition and fees…call the school to see if its final…

Interesting. I got $10,000 from UC Grants for SB and my parents income is x>$80,000.

whats funny is that i received a 5,500 grant money from ucsc not including loans they offered, so i hope i can receive more.

also both ucr and ucsc are offering 732 tuition grant, so i hope this means that ucr is still processing

@stevo, your Cal grant for each UC should be around the same amount…

looking at what they offered you it seems that you dont qualify for the blue and gold opportunity plan because they didnt even offer you enough money for tuition and fees…did you file your FAFSA, and submit your Cal Grant GPA verification form…

do you know what your EFC is?

most UC are generally great at estimating what they will be offering you, and the majority of the time what is awarded in your initial offer is generally about what you will get, five or take a few thousand…but I believe most schools have yet to process the cal grants…so its possible from what you are say if you are for certain you are eligible for the BLUE and GOLD, you will probably get more money…
