Hi I will be in Richmond for the long weekend and I am planning on visiting the University of Richmond one afternoon. I'm sure there are numerous threads about what to do while visitng the campus but it is Memorial Weekend and I know there are no tours and I'm not sure what will be open. Any information or suggestions would be great! Thank you

Although much of the campus is closed for the 3-day holiday weekend, there are a number of things you could do that would give you a taste of the school:
Heilman Dining Center: (Main Dining Center overlooking the lake)
Eat a meal at the dining hall: Usually, it is a great place to people watch, but during the summer, it is usually pretty much empty…Food is really good.
Monday-Friday, Breakfast 7-9:30 a.m., Lunch 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Dinner 4-7 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday, Brunch 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Dinner 4-7 p.m.

Tyler’s Grill: (Fast Food in the Commons Building over the lake)

Passport Cafe: (Cafe in the International School)

BRING A LOAF OF BREAD AND FEED THE DUCKS ON THE LAKE!

p.s.: If, after you have had a “look see” and you are interested in Richmond, it would be well worth your while to come back in the fall while school is in session: You could get an official tour, spend the night on campus, go to classes -and- my most important advice it to talk to and observe the students: Do you see yourself interacting with them? Does it give off the vibe you are looking for? You need to do this before committing to ANY school you are looking at!

Ditto aandjaunt!

thank you!! sadly nothing was open but it was a beautiful campus! thank you for the advice
