What to wear to interview/tips!

I will have an Architecture Interview with a Professor in late September and what should I wear?

Any other tips?

Where should I stay (I'll be 17, so idk about a hotel.....) thanks!

Knowing your gender would help.

If you are a guy:
A suit is always acceptable. At least black pants/shoes & collar shirt.

If you are a girl:
I don’t know. Not a bikini.

tips: practice talking before the interview. Have your parents/sibling interview you, or just talk to yourself. Get a list of interview questions online and go through them.

If you are a girl, a skirt and conservative shirt or a dress with flats. You are interviewing with a professor on campus, no need to be too dressed. Wear flats so you could walk around Cornell campus.

Statler hotel is right on campus, which makes it very convenient, but expensive. Hilton Garden Inn is nice, right in the center of town, you could walk to many restaurants.

You may have a problem getting a hotel by yourself as an 17 year old. Your parents may need to speak with a manager first. Some hotels do not take anyone under 18.

Most of those hotels have shuttle services to Cornell, and there are buses and cabs you could take, in case you don’t have a car.

D interviewed last year for AAP. She wore nice black slacks, shirt, cardigan and nice flats. She got in, so I guess what she was wearing was fine!

Check with the red carpet society (I think that’s the name) about getting put up with a student. At 17, I doubt any hotel will let you reserve a room.

It is possible, but an adult needs to call ahead. I have done it for my kids.
