In college you have to carry around all you books plus you don't have a locker. So what type of bags to you use? Basic backpack, messengers, laptop baggy thingy, or carry your books like in HS?

i never carry my textbooks with me.....

for a lot of my classes, we hardly use the textbook... or for math/science ones we use them to do problems for homework.

for my non-science/math courses, i usually just have packets of primary documents to read or some sort of combination

soooooooooooooooooooo

basic backpack

Small to midsized backpack, messenger bag, or tote.

Most guys use backpacks, and most girls use tote bags. The Vera Bradley ones are especially popular.

The guys usually either use a backpack or just carry a notebook around (and presumably a pen, somewhere). Most girls have tote bags or messenger bags, but some carry backpacks as well. I usually use a messenger bag, except when I need to take my computer or a whole bunch of stuff, then I take the backpack. I only ever used textbooks in math/science classes, and in English classes, although in those the 'textbook' is about the size of a novel.

do you ever have to bring your laptop to classes everday? or is that just a stereotype?

My laptop has never left my dorm room.

I use a messenger bag, and unless you have 2 or more classes back-to-back, there's no reason to carry around more than a notebook for the one class, or something for notes. In most of my classes, I do take the text with me, but it's because I need to see it during class. If I don't need it, I don't bring it.

I never need my books for class or my laptop. I just toss some notebooks and pens in my Vera Bradley tote. :)

i never ever bring books to class. occasionally a reader, but usually not. i DO bring my laptop though. don't have to, but it helps keep notes organized and provides me with something to do when class gets unbearably dull.

I bring my books to class, but I'm a commuter (and because of the stupid parking regulations I usually just get someone to drop me off) so I just can't run to my dorm to get a book should I need it or have down time to study. I carry a tote on days where I only have one class (currently Harajuku Lovers, but I never carry one for long) and a backpack on days with more (currently Jansport Big Student, but the straps are ripping out).

I had to bring my laptop to my Engineering classes every day. That hasn't been necessary in any other class I've taken, though.

I only bring my laptop to one class, because I really don't feel like scribbling notes for 3 hours straight and then trying to read them later. Other than that, there were a few classes where I had to bring it once or twice to hook it up to the projector for a presentation, but to most classes I usually don't bring it with me. It's a bit of a pain to have to always unhook it and carry it around and all.

I don't bring my laptop to any of my classes, but almost all of them require having the books in class.

I never bring textbooks to class, just a laptop and a notebook in a backpack

Do you guys like writing notes or typing on your laptop better? Cause my hand gets so tired from writing so fast and I can barely read it afterwards lol

The only classes I don't type notes in are math/science ones bc it's too hard to write in formulas on the fly via keyboard.

P.S. people need to stop getting those rolling backpacks. they look absolutely ridiculous

^Agreed. The only people who use them at my school are the law students, who all seem to be 30+, so that's not as bad, but the few grad students that use them still look dorky...

I tried a messenger bag (guy) but found that I don't really need it. Most guys either have a backpack or just carry a binder or two at a time.

i have to say, i'm a fan of writing my notes, mostly because it allows me doodle space.
