What UC is the right one for me????

I did 1750 SAT
SAT 2: 570 & 540
ACT Comp: 29

Bunch of Ec's, community service and hours, bunch more.
My stats are HORRIBLE, I know.

I got into UCSB, UCSC, PLU.
I'm waiting on Berkeley and UofA(Arizona)
I didn't get into UCLA :/

I wanna major in Anthropology with a focus in Archaeology.
Which one is the best one for me?
I also want sunshine, I live by Seattle, I'm tired of the cold/rain.
I'm straight edge.
I love hardcore/metal/death metal music.

I need to know which area is best gonna suit me.
What do you guys think???

PLEASE go to UCSB! I’m also straight edge and listen to deathcore.

I personally think UCSC would be the place to go for you. UCSC is mild weather all year around, there is beaches, and you are near the Bay Area with a greattttt music scene.

UCSB has a pretty good music scene too…
And UCSC actually has more of a indie music scene, correct?

My history teacher went to UCSB, and he said the anthropology class he took CHANGED HIS LIFE. He said the professor(s?) there were really good and made him want to become a teacher, too. I don’t really know about the anthropology program at UCSC.

I think anywhere you go, you will find people with similar music tastes. I mean, metal/deathcore are fairly popular genres and I’m sure there will be a lot of people at UCSB, or any other school, that you’ll get along with. :)

Arizona is really, REALLY hot. I’ve lived in SoCal all my life and I don’t think I could stand living in such a hot area. I don’t like hot weather much… Plus, no beach!

Both UCSB and UCSC, I think, have nice, sunny weather, especially compared to Seattle, haha! I think you should decide whether you like UCSC/UCSB better. Even though UCSB has a “party school” reputation, UCSC has a lot of, well, stoners. I have friends that go there, haha, and they party just as hard! But I also know people that went to those schools and kept themselves under control. I think that if you already know that you have a strong will-power, and are confident in your beliefs, then you’ll be fine! :)

Other things to consider: I’ve seen UCSC and it’s very woodsy, kind of hippie-ish. If you like camping/outdoors/wild animals, then you should definitely consider it. Lots of trees, lots of hiking. If you’re into that thing, then definitely, definitely consider it.

UCSB is RIGHT on the beach. UCSC is near the beach too, but it’s more up on the hill/surrounded by trees. If you love the beach or want to pick up surfing, then this is the place for you! The downtown area is also very nice… you should check it out if you can. Also, UCSB is ranked higher… although both are good schools.

I recommend that you visit UCSB/UCSC, if you can.
I personally chose UCSB because it was closer to my best friend and because… I’m not a woodsy person. If you do choose UCSB, I’ll see you there. :)

Personality wise, you’d probably feel more at home at UCSC

however, it rains a lot during the winter…

a lot.

I’ve decided on UCSB.
I’m really excited. I didn’t get into Cal, but I made up my mind 3 days ago anyways, so it wouldn’t have mattered.
Thank you for your words!
And I’ll see you this fall!
:D

Finally, a beach that isn’t freeeeeezzzinnggggg!

Yayy, see you in the fall. :D

Same!!
I’m really excited.
I’ve never even moved houses before, so this move is going to be HUGE for me.
And I have to do a crap load of work study, but it’s really worth it!
Woo!
:D
