WHAT UCS WILL I GET INTO? WILL I GET INTO UC IRVINE?

My UC GPA is 3.92. My unweighted GPA for 10th and 11th grade combined is probably around a 3.5/3.6 (not sure).

ACT is 34, SAT is 2210. SAT Biology is 800, SAT Chemistry is 800, SAT Math 2 is 780.

I have pretty good extracurriculars. I did research at a lab in UCSF for two summers. I am president of UNICEF club. I am part of student council. I do various art related activities like paint backdrops for drama productions and design sets. I was the lead role of a play for a large cultural organization, and have been part of their annual plays since I was young. I play the violin at an expert level (have learned since 2nd grade) and have given numerous performances.

I took 5 weighted classes and 1 regular class this past year (junior year). Unfortunately, I got B+'s in all of my weighted classes. They were so close, and a few of the B’s were the product of unfair grading. Around 89/89.5 for all of them except the unweighted class. I’m pretty scared, as I don’t think with my grades that I’ll get in anywhere good.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

I pretty much have the exact same stats as you (same sat score too… weird…) but a slightly higher UC GPA. Look, you should have a pretty good, if not solid, chance of getting into Irvine. Although your capped GPA may be slightly under par, your test scores are well above the 75th percentile for an average freshman admitted there. But a couple of questions: are you OOS? If so, can your parents pay the tuition required for the UCs? What’s your senior year courseload? (remember this is a factor) What are your AP scores? What AP classes have you taken?

@michelle426 No, I live in California, and I’m pretty sure my parents can pay the tuition. I don’t know AP scores for junior year yet, but I took APUSH, AP Chem, AP Physics 1, and AP English Language. In 10th grade I took AP European History and I got a 4 on the AP test. I’m certain I got a 5 on APUSH, and at least a 4 on everything else.

I’m taking AP Bio, AP English Literature, AP Calculus AB, Advanced Anatomy, Psychology, and Gov/Econ in senior year. So, 3 weighted classes (technically 4, because Advanced Anatomy is weighted in a different way).

@specialk2 I think you’ll get into UCI. It shouldn’t be that hard for you. I think you could get into another higher UC (although this one maybe a low match or a slight reach) if you really wanted to.

You are a competitive applicant for most of the UC’s. UCI should be a Match. Your GPA is slightly low for UCSD/UCLA/UCB although your ACT and SAT scores are competitive. Your EC’s are varied and interesting. Just spend on time on your essays this summer and they could make the difference for the upper tier UC’s. Good Luck.

Santa Cruz you should be really solid for, don’t forget to consider it. It’s gorgeous & tied for #1 research influence in the world with MIT.
