What was the last thing that shocked or offended you?

My mom was just telling me a story about one of her friends who put a virus on his kid's computer so she wouldn't spend so much time chatting online. I was like "What kind of parents are they?!" o_0

I found out one of my friends who is valedictorian of our class is a porn addict. I thought he couldn’t look at it since his parents have that program that shows everything you watch on your computer. Turns out he would use his dads computer, but eventually got a virus and locked up the PC, so he called his dad and told him what he did lmao!

a mom in town providing illegal substances to her kid and kid’s friends…and I’m not talking about alcohol.

Loool that’s pretty terrible, the virus thing. My parents used to have MSN parental controls on the computers I used… ughhh. And they’re computer programmers – not clueless old people – so I couldn’t get around the stuff they did.

Anyways, the last time I can think of being shocked/offended was in early November when I was making phone calls from the Obama campaign office, encouraging people (especially in swing states) to vote. I tried to stray away from “VOTE FOR OBAMA!”, instead just reminding people to go out there and get their voice heard, no matter what their opinions. However, I introduced myself as “[Poseur] phoning from the Obama campaign office,” so I got a lot of anti-Obama hate anyways. One of the worst was a guy who was like, “I’VE GOTTEN PHONE CALLS FROM YOU PEOPLE EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. SO YOU KNOW WHAT?!?!?!? I’M NOT GOING TO VOTE, OKAY?!?!?!?” afldkjfkslfj that made me sooo sad. And another guy argued with me for like 15 minutes (you know me, I couldn’t just hang up lol) and said ridiculous stuff like “You know our country is a sad, sad place when we’re going to vote a Muslim into office after what happened on 9/11” and tried to lecture me about how Obama’s birth records were falsified and a bunch of other stuff. I was just shocked that people believe that kind of propaganda. If he hadn’t wanted to vote for Obama for legitimate/TRUE reasons, and even if he’d been rude about it, I’d have been fine, but I was disgusted that people believed such BS.

This was a few years ago, but a kid in my school went into the parking lot and keyed swastikas on all of the cars owned by Jewish students.

A kid in my school got his computer locked (like old fashion lock with keys) by his parents because he was playing Halo. His parents somehow locked the power button on the computer, and put another lock to the lock that locked the power button.

based on just about every response in this thread, you guys are living in a bubble

that last thing that shocked me, and there aren’t many, was the video 3 guys 1 hammer

yeah i saw a rat come out of a dead man’s mouth in Passcenhendaele. really scared the hell outta me

sorry on second thought a little too graphic

the CC AIM chatroom. Jk :)

^Wait what happened ?

What was the last thing that shocked or offended you?
It shocks me that people are telling hillarious stories instead of offencive!! lol…

Poseur, I also made calls for the Obama campaign and got a lot of the same responses. I guess that’s what happens when you live in rural PA :frowning:

It offended me, but it didn’t shock me at all. I hear horrible stuff in school everyday. So many people are racist, homophobic, xenophobic, everything…

a girl in a class of mine was talking about how everyone should learn english, including immigrants. the way she said it was in the sense that english was easy to learn and that immigrants shouldn’t ever speak their own language. exact words: “this is america and i don’t want to have to “press one for english” when i call someone!”. hmph. i would like to go dump her in mexico and see how well she finds her way around with not being able to speak spanish. perhaps she could just magically learn it like she expects immigrants to america to magically learn english. we also have three girls in that class who had come from hispanic countries and one from an asian country. if looks could kill…

^I heard that kind of crap all the time at my school.

I love how people expect everyone to speak english in the U.S., but when they visit other countries they expect the people their to speak english as well…

LOL. My parents don’t even know how to turn our computer on.

@claire1016: lol i know. and i hear that stuff a lot at my school too, but i was offended on the behalf of the immigrants who were sitting RIGHT THERE as she said this. and i already don’t like this girl very much because she is very ignorant and rude.

I was pretty shocked last night — playing Apples to Apples at some kid’s party and “Schindler’s List” won “entertaining.”

D:

I mean I guess it’s a movie but – what?!

When CC totally destroyed my innocence :(

^ how so???
