I would still apply to Poly as a frosh entrance. you never know what can happen. Talk with someone NOW about your portfolio. If it is strong, that could swing things your way. Everyone is allowed to make mistakes, and you are smart enough to have realized that very early in the game. Visit the ARCH department over the Open House weekendso that you can know exactly what they are looking for. (Tell your folks to make hotel reservations early...) If ARCH is anything like Graphic Design, they have slides (yes, unfortunately, not on disk, they say KODAK) in the Library of past accepted portfolio content. It is worth it to look them over!

So on the CalPoly Portal website, it says that i was conditionally accepted...

however, i have no to-do items, and under the accept/decline option, it says:

You have already submitted your accept or decline response. If you have any further questions, please contact the Admissions Office.

I don't get it... i just found out today!!?
Also, no email or letter yet, just notice off the website...

Has this happend to anyone else??

well i went to the college and c. center and they said that with my grades i have a chance at going straight through
but once i talked to my counseler about what classes i should take, ect.

and he said id be soooo much better off taking it easy now do requirements for highschool diploma, and take my foreign languages now, so then go to community college for 2 years, and then take classes i need for cal poly.

and to me that sounds better because i know if i bust my ass everyday and work as hard as i can i can make a 3.5 and thats the best. and since they are looking for 3.91+ and great SAT scores id be wayyyy better off this way.

cause its easier. less complicated. and no risks.
plus if i move to slo. (i live in agoura) id have to room there or get an appartment and i dont know if i can make enough money after buying a car for when im 18 to directly move, but since moorpark is right up the street, and peirce is like a 20min drive its wayyy easier.

but thanks for everyones help and stuff. seriously a month ago i had no clue of the difference of a bach. degree and a masters i just knew masters was better lol
and hope everyone else is having fun in college, and good luck to the people trying to get in :)

3] I applied as an Industrial Technology major. An admissions officer at a college fair said its a "hidden gem" major, and so i asked if that means its easier to get into and she said historically yes. This occurred after i submitted the app, so IT is really the major i like most at cal poly.

4] no tips really, just get good SAT and keep the grades decent.

I got into Industrial Technology, not engineering.
