@averagewhiteguy lol I live in Florida and the cutoff is anywhere from 210-212ish so THANK GOD!! Next year hopefully it wont be too hard to get it. I wish I was in precalc already im only in alg2 still I Cant believe he got an 80 on the math but… still I can believe it hahahaha some people are just really mathematically inclined. I am not sure who was the highest sophomore (only 3 of us took it) as of right now I know I am the highest and I am pretty sure I did better than almost all the juniors except maybe 2 or so. This test was such an improvement from the PSSS last year, I got a 176 (56CR+62M+58W).

Yeah lol your lucky to live in Florida but still beat me That is, however, a bit strange how only a few kids took it lol. I go to a public school with 1,500 kids and all of the sophomores and juniors take it. Do you go to private school @Calchong?

@averagewhiteguy lol I’m taking APUSH now. Its such a pain, and our teacher is SOO DIFFICULT. We had a test today and my hand STILL hurts!!! I go to a school in MA so yeah, my cutoff is higher but I am only a sophomore so all is good.

@averagewhiteguy I go to a small catholic school of about 250ish kids

As a sophomore in MN I got 216. Only went up 3 points as a Junior, which was disappointing because my SAT score led me to believe I’d score higher… Shouldn’t complain though because MN has kind of a low NMSF cutoff so I was fine haha

@livelaugh7, I feel your pain. I am taking AP Euro now and so far have a B, but am working on getting the A. At my school, only final grades go on the transcript so all you need is 2 marking period As plus 2 marking period Bs and an A on the final to get an A for the year. In my ap euro class, the final and 4th MP are automatic As since all you need is a 3+ on the practice A test, and since my teacher is great, everyone gets 4s and 5s. Also, in the 4th MP, we are in AP exam review mode so that is an auto A. So next MP, I just need to pull an A to get an A for the year. I really hope that I can do it! Good luck by the way in APUSH and let me know how the exam is

This is pretty bad but…
Sophomore PSAT:
M: 80
CR: 47
W: 51
178 overall

Uhm I think from a 221–>226. For me, it stayed the same, for the most part. I went up in math, and remained consistent in writing (80’s both times, somehow). I can’t remember CR, but I think it was the same.

@averagewhiteguy Thanks! The APUSH course at my school is so rigorous that everyone, without studying, can get a 3 on the exam. Goes to show.

My son was able to go from 199 soph to a 230 junior year. Like most of you, as a soph, he had to deal with homework the night before, so I’m sure that didn’t help, his soph score. The his Math and CR were really high, his WR really low. Texas public school don’t teach grammar.

I bought him a grammar book and found free online grammar videos, and made him study for 3 weekends and one week prior to the test.

Only took it once, as a junior, and I got 185. Math killed my score, but I still received NM recognition through the NAS. Took the real SAT a year later without studying and got 2010.

DS soph psat: 183
DS junior psat: 223
DS junior SAT: 2360 (he got one math question wrong in the crazy curve test session for math; it cost him 40 points!!).

Moral of the story: it appears that an additional year of maturation and some practice tests help.

I got a 190-something my sophomore year, and that was the only time I took it. My SAT score that spring was a 2260.

Just realized I totally misread the title of this thread (hours later…) so disregard my response!

Freshman PSAT 186
Sophomore 204
still waiting for my PSAT hoping for a similar jump

My freshman PSAT was a 180, and my sophomore PSAT came out 190.

I’m happy I’m getting closer to 200… I should have studied a bit more but I got one of the highest grades in my school, so that makes up for my disappointment a little bit. I’m determined for national merit next year…

I used palm’s method and got the same score that I received in the mail.
Sophomore: 222
Junior: 237, 2400

170 - 9th
188 - 10th
??? - 11th (will know Monday)

Using the method mentioned earlier, I scored a 205 this year, hopefully enough for National Achievement.

freshman: 191
sophomore: 200
junior: 232
but then my junior sat was 2200…whyyyy
