What Will Colleges do if they get materials but there's no "file" created?

Hi all. What would colleges do if they receive teacher reports and school reports, etc. in the mail but the applicant hasnt submitted an initial application or paid the fee or they havent received those materials yet?

Bump! I've been wondering this too!

I'd like to know this too. Somebody answer please.

theyll open up a file for you, but it wont be considered complete without necessary items hence wont be reviewed.

They open a file when they start to receive documents. Relax. But remember it's up to you to follow through with am email or call to the admissions office before the application deadline to be sure they have everything they ask for.

Thanks.

10 char

Try to avoid this situation. Submit your application before the recs and other paperwork. Admission offices have been seeing very large increases in the number of applicants. Most are not getting equivalent increases in their budgets or staff and handling the volumes are paper is an issue.

Easy. Send in an official score report (SAT or ACT). A file will be created for you.

As soon as the college gets something with your name and address on it, they'll create a file for you. It may be stored in a different place until they get your app though.

Easier. Most colleges have a pre-app sheet that is just mostly name, address, school name, and soc. security number information, as well as your fee. Just send this in first, the admissions office will create a file for you, and then send your essays, teacher recs, and secondary school report afterwards. They will make a file as soon they receive the pre-app sheet.
