Chern, that's hilarious. I love hearing what people called theirs.

kushalpurie: I wanted to say something about my country, how it has influenced me, and how I've grown stronger living here. I wanted to choose "Learn to Fly" as my autobiography title, but of course, that's the name of a Foo Fighters song. I don't think it's a problem, but I prefer not to use it.

I'm thinking of something that sounds similar, like "Building my Winds", but I don't like how that sounds.

Chern, that's a good title! But maybe it's a bit hard to explain? How are you planning to do so?

Daniel, yea it's hard to explain. But I'm working on it. It's only 250 words, so I don't have to be too exhaustive. Don't let the fact that the foo fighters stole the title of your autobiography discourage you. Seriously.

I still haven't sent in my supplement, but one of my friends went for : "How I invented the time machine"

Don't like it much ..

Ha.."How I invented the time machine"..that's funny....while mine is boring

I ended up not applying, but the my title was "A Blank Slate".

Yea, I've been thinking for two weeks on the title, and the best I can come up with is "Curiosity Killed the Cat. Again." Or something similar to that. Time is severely running out. Any comments on that title would be super!

how "smart" are admissions officers when it comes to reading creative writing? Would they recognize the intentional use of sentence structure in an essay to serve a purpose? I used what my english teacher said was meaningful sentence structure to make my point. If they dont get it my essay will just sound awkward.Does anyone know how good at actually analyzing writing these people are? If they wont get it im just gonna change my essay to make it a little more straightforward

They're only taking a matter of minutes to read your essay. I would make it sound less awkward.

Do you think that it's OK to use a title from a real book for your title, so long as you make the title work for you?

I just had a really good idea, but then remembered that Shel Silverstein has already titled a book that way.

Let me guess: Falling Up? Or a Light In The Attic?

I might avoid Shel Silverstein titles because his books are (at least Where The Sidewalk Ends is) titled after poems with those names.

Yeah, you're right whirlybird. I was going to use "Falling Up."

I've been sitting here for hours, and my mind has yielded didly-squat in terms of viable ideas. It's starting to annoy me.

My title was "mariposo," the masculinzed form of the Spanish "mariposa," meaning butterfly. "Mariposo" is a Spanish term used to describe gay men.

So...yeah. =)

Good luck with that?
Applications are due today. I actually only sent in my supplement a couple of hours ago. It's finally over!

I wrote the essay on paper last night, just typed it up... DONE!

Now to type up the other essays I wrote, and write one more...

My title is 'Astronaut BumbleBee' :)

"A Barefooted Journey"

Hm... I'm wondering if mind is too boring/traditional. I just talk about how I live life with a "barefooted" mentality.

i feel like mine is completely ridiculous. whatever, my gpa is too low for to me accepted anyway.

mine is "The Rare, Revealing, and Realistic Record of Rachel."

because: i want to be an english major and the alliteration in the title reflects my love for writing mechanics
it is also a title that is not easy to for get and stands out among the rest(so i wrote, haha), an impression i try to make on people i meet.

I divided my autobiography into two volumes and based it on the writings of William Blake. The heading was Songs of Innocence and of Experience: Shewing the Two Contrary States of the Human Soul, but I called it Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience in my essay. Basically I told about the average day of my life when I was young (innocence) and my average day now (experience)

I ended up calling mine Succisa Virescuit
