What would I need to do if i want to transfer into WM next year (i already got in)

i was accepted to WM...it was my top choice from september to April 29..then the next day i changed to my state flagship, partially for money, partially distance, partially friends

anyways, i have secondthought the decision ever since...after i declined wm, they sent me a letter that said my app would be on file for a year, should i wish to reapply...is it harder to get in as a transfer?..also, should i call them to show my interest??

lastly, how is the transition of a transfer student??..i always vacation in williamsburg, and it is gorgeous there, so ive always dreamt of going to wm...however, if i love my first year at my current school (uconn), im gonna stick there...any advice?

anybody–i want to cover my bases to avoid making a big mistake

Do well at Uconn? If you do well there I don’t see why you couldn’t get in as a transfer, but I admittedly don’t know much about the transfer process.

Keep a high GPA at Uconn, around 3.6.

i heard some people say transfering is much easier, because it doesnt affect the stats of in coming freshman, but i also heard its harder because teres less spots open

If you don’t do well you won’t get in, I’m not sure what you’re looking for exactly here. If you do exceptionally well I’m sure you’ll get in. If you’re in a murky area, I guess having gotten in the first time might help somewhat, but don’t count on it helping a subpar GPA.

I’d imagine a good GPA (for some reason I am remembering that the average transfer GPA was like a 3.75, but I’m not sure where that number is coming from other than the back of my brain) and a good essay saying why you want to go to W&M this time would be a good place to start.
