I am applying to these four schools and I am having trouble with deciding what school I would choose should I get accepted at all three. The schools are as follows-

Colorado School of Mines
Cornell
University of Pittsburgh
Dartmouth

I realize that in some areas, they aren't really comparable.

If given all of those choices, and having a degree in engineering in mind, which would you choose and why? If anyone has attended/is attending one of these colleges, I would really appreciate your views on the school as well.

Thanks.

ETA-I live in WY. I don't have the applications in to three of the schools since I am still working on the essays but, I have already been accepted at CSM.

Well, are you going to need a lot of aid? If so, your answer may be apparent when the F/A packages come thru.

I don’t know why you’re spending time puzzling over what to do IF you get accepted to all three (four?). Work on your apps first. Then you can think about what-ifs after those are done. And Mom2CK is right, we waited for the offers to come in before making any decisions.

RS - Congrats on your acceptance to CSM. Excellent! Based on that alone I’d say you have a shot at the other three. Those three eastern schools are V-E-R-Y different from one another. My suggestion is apply, get accepted, and then visit each before you decide.

PS, If you like science and engineering-centric schools, you might consider adding a couple to your list. Like CSM, they oft times go by their initials: CMU, RPI, MIT.
